I am making an automatic disc changer for my computer with my Mindstorms NXT. This will let me burn CDs and DVDs from my school. The problem is that most air compressors are large, bulky monsters and I want to have a small one that I can put next to my computer. I don’t know how the valves and stuff work on air compressors, and I want to be able to turn the air flow on and off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Buy yourself a compressed air tank. This stores a fairly large volume of air and you can buy them in various sizes.
    I don’t know of any air compressor that you would want running inside your house. They usually discharge a lot of excess water and silicone lubricant [used in most compressors].
    Better to use a tank and recharge it as needed.
